Origin/Class: Starforger – Targon
Aurelion Sol is one of the strongest 7-cost late-game carries in TFT Set 16. With the power to summon falling stars, unleash massive AoE bursts, and create cosmic ruptures that grow stronger over time, he brings overwhelming magic pressure to any battlefield. Unlike traditional AP carries, Aurelion Sol becomes more dangerous the longer he survives — his stars grow larger, hit harder, and eventually evolve into devastating supernovas.
His identity revolves around scaling cosmic explosions, making him a terrifying win-condition when properly supported.
Unlock Requirement:
Activate 4 Starforger – Targon.
Aurelion Sol gains increased magic damage, a larger star explosion radius, and periodic healing every 3 seconds.
✅ HOW TO UNLOCK AURELION SOL – TFT SET 16
Aurelion Sol is a 7-cost Unlockable Champion, meaning he WILL NOT appear in your shop unless you meet the correct Region requirement.
Aurelion Sol belongs to:
- Origin: Starforger
- Class: Targon
However, his unlock condition is tied ONLY to Targon, not Starforger.
⭐ 🔓 Unlock Condition for Aurelion Sol
Deploy 5 Targon champions in combat
→ ACTIVATE 4 TARGON
Once your board reaches 4 Targon, Aurelion Sol becomes unlocked and can now appear in your shop as a standard 7-cost unit.
❌ Without 4 Targon → Aurelion Sol NEVER appears
✔ With 4 Targon → He CAN appear in the shop
🎯 Important Notes:
✔ You only need to unlock him once
After Aurelion Sol appears and you purchase him, you may drop to 2–3 Targon and still use him normally.
✔ If you haven’t bought him yet and drop below 4 Targon → he stops appearing
You must reactivate 4 Targon to make him show up in the shop again.
✔ He still follows 7-cost shop odds:
- Level 7 → extremely rare
- Level 8 → low chance
- Level 9 → highest chance
📌 Simple Example
If your team includes:
- Soraka
- Diana
- Taric
- Aphelios
→ You now have 4 Targon → Aurelion Sol becomes unlocked.
Once purchased, you may switch your comp and drop below 4 Targon.
🌌 Why does Aurelion Sol require unlocking?
Because he is one of the strongest AP carries in Set 16 with:
- massive AoE explosions,
- Supernova upgrade,
- the ability to wipe entire boards late-game,
Riot restricts early access by requiring a Targon activation gate.
ABILITY: FALLING STAR
Mana: 0/75
Aurelion Sol summons a massive star that crashes into the target area, dealing heavy AoE magic damage and leaving behind a cosmic zone.
The ability has three major components:
(1) Starfall Impact — Celestial Strike
A giant star crashes down, dealing 300/450/2000 magic damage within its explosion radius.
- If multiple enemies are hit, each one takes full damage.
- Enemies standing in the center take bonus damage.
(2) Cosmic Rupture — Cracked Starlight
After the star lands, the ground fractures and becomes an unstable cosmic field:
- Deals magic damage over time.
- Slows enemy attack speed.
- If Aurelion Sol casts again while the zone is active, the next star falls directly onto it, empowering the explosion.
(3) Celestial Ascension — Supernova (After 3 Casts)
After three casts, Aurelion Sol evolves his star into a Supernova:
- The explosion radius doubles.
- Huge bonus magic damage.
- Blast waves pierce through the backline.
- Burns targets’ max HP as true damage.
Supernova is Aurelion Sol’s signature finisher — capable of deleting an entire board if opponents can’t kill him in time.
