Zaahen is one of the most fearsome 7-cost champions in TFT Set 16. He excels at extended fights, where his power steadily ramps up thanks to his Darkin stacks and relentless execution-style attacks. Zaahen’s signature playstyle revolves around dashing, slashing, and executing targets, with a unique condition:
After enough attacks, he can instantly kill his target, causing devastating chain reactions in teamfights.
Zaahen becomes increasingly oppressive the longer a combat lasts, making him a terrifying late-game carry capable of shredding even the tankiest frontline units.
Unlock Requirement:
Unlock Condition: Get Invincible Xinzhao Core + Deploy Xin Zhao 3-star 5 rounds
Reach at least level 9 have a Yordle or Zaunite champion with 3 items on the field.
Activate 4 Darkin – Immortal traits.
Zaahen gains bonus HP, lifesteal, and the ability to revive once per combat, greatly enhancing his dueling and survivability.
✅ HOW TO UNLOCK ZAAHEN – TFT SET 16
Zaahen is a 7-cost Unlockable Champion, meaning he WILL NOT appear in your shop unless you meet his specific Region requirement.
Zaahen belongs to:
- Origin: Darkin
- Class: Immortal
However, his unlock condition is tied ONLY to Darkin, not Immortal.
⭐ 🔓 Unlock Condition for Zaahen
→ ACTIVATE 4 DARKIN
Once your team reaches 4 Darkin, Zaahen becomes unlocked and can now appear in your shop as a standard 7-cost champion.
✔ With 4 Darkin → Zaahen CAN appear (unlock successful)
🎯 Important Notes:
✔ You only need to unlock him once
After Zaahen appears and you buy him, you may drop down to 2–3 Darkin and still use Zaahen normally.
✔ If you HAVEN’T bought him yet and you drop below 4 Darkin → he stops appearing
You must reactivate 4 Darkin to make him show up in the shop again.
✔ He follows standard 7-cost shop odds:
- Level 7 → extremely low
- Level 8 → low
- Level 9 → best chance
📌 Simple Example
If your board includes:
- Aatrox
- Kayn
- Naafiri
- Xolaani
→ That’s 4 Darkin → Zaahen becomes unlocked.
After you purchase him, you can change your comp and drop to 3 Darkin if needed.
🗡 Why does Zaahen require unlocking?
Because Zaahen is one of the strongest 7-cost champions in Set 16 with:
- his 25-stack Execution mechanic (instant kill),
- massive physical damage,
- strong sustain,
- and the ability to wipe entire boards once fully ramped.
Riot restricts him behind a Darkin activation gate to prevent early-game snowballing.
ABILITY: DARKIN EXECUTIONER

Zaahen targets the lowest-HP enemy and dashes toward them, slashing in a sweeping arc.
The skill includes three core stages:
(1) Darkin Dash – The Lunge of Doom
Zaahen dashes directly to his target, dealing 120/180/750 physical damage and briefly slowing their attack speed.
(2) Bloodrend Blade – The Bloodforged Slice
Zaahen then swings his massive blade in a wide arc, dealing physical damage to all nearby enemies and healing himself for 20% of the damage dealt.
(3) Darkin Execution (25 Stacks) – Instant Kill
Each of Zaahen’s attacks grants 1 Darkin Stack.
Upon reaching 25 stacks, his next strike will:
- Instantly execute the target, regardless of their HP.
- Deal splash damage to surrounding enemies.
- Grant Zaahen bonus attack speed for 4 seconds.
This mechanic is what transforms Zaahen into a late-game monster capable of wiping an entire board once he reaches execution threshold.

Demacia
Gain massive Armor and bonus damage scaling with Armor.
Noxus
Each strike increases Zaahen’s damage by 3%, stacking infinitely.
Ixtal
Each slash gains an elemental effect:
Fire burns, Earth grants shield, Wind increases attack speed.
Shadow Isles
Zaahen heals for a large amount whenever an enemy dies near him.
Shurima
His first dash knocks up the target and nearby enemies.
Zaun
Applies poison on hit, dealing additional damage over time based on AD.
Piltover
If Zaahen triggers Darkin Execution, he gains bonus attack speed and may generate Gold.
Freljord
Every slash reduces enemy Armor and MR.
Void
Zaahen’s strikes ignore 30% of enemy Armor.
Targon
Whenever Zaahen heals, the lowest-HP ally heals for 8% of that amount.
